The Subject
The Cross planted on Golgotha, the hill of the skull. The corpus is carved with care in the face and hands, and the cross itself is left square and plain so the figure speaks.
The Making
The pedestal is carved to look like living rock and wood together, a reminder of the old legend that the Cross was cut from the Tree of Life. It stands freely on a table or altar.
Chosen by the house from the workshops of the forty Bethlehem families it works with, and sent to you from Old Caritas Street.
